At the end of this week, St. Patrick’s College Maynooth are hosting an international theology conference on the role of the young theologian in today’s world. Pretty cool idea for a conference, right?
I am presenting a paper entitled the Theologian As Evangelist. This is pretty terrifying for me as a first year theology student and if you feel like coming along and bringing banners and cheering for me, that would rock.
But there are going to be real theologians saying real and valuable things. Most notably for me, Oliver Crisp is on his way to our humble little village to talk to us about analytic theology. There are some other really interesting looking papers like Katharine Sarah Moody’s paper “On the Question of (Rightly?) Passing for A/Theologian” and fellow Maynoothian’s Paul Clogher’s “A Positive Iconoclasm: Surrealism, Subversion, and the Sacred in Martin Scorsese’s The Last Temptation of Christ”.
