I had a chat with my systematic theology lecturer this morning and he made the kind of off hand comment you expect from theologians. He hoped that the crash, if anything, would reveal that Ireland had been looking to “princes and chariots” for security. We had a selfish and naive faith in the free market. Faith in the true sense, the sense that Christians use it in, as trust.

Then I got back to the office and saw Vinoth Ramachandra had written a new entry on just this topic. Money and morality.

Just now I have stumbled across, via Marginal Revolution, a clip from a recent South Park episode that puts these two together and as only they can, pierce it with their sharp satire:

When is there going to be a Feurebachian critique of the “free market”?

Your Correspondent, Blames the free market for everything except this sentence.
